The Script Registry is a new feature for ScriptRunner for Confluence Data Center that allows you to access and search your custom scripts, and view any type-checking errors or deprecation warnings, in a single place.
With a Confluence instance on Data Center, you’re bound to have a plethora of custom scripts, and some may have type-checking errors or deprecation warnings. Until now, it hasn’t been convenient for you to identify which scripts you’re using, where they are located, or their purpose.
Enter Script Registry — a new feature for ScriptRunner for Confluence Data Center that allows you to access and search your custom scripts, and view any type-checking errors or deprecation warnings, in a single place.
Look familiar? This feature may look familiar to ScriptRunner for Jira users. Script Registry was first available in ScriptRunner for Jira, and now we’ve rolled it out to ScriptRunner for Confluence Data Center users too!

How does Script Registry work?
Script Registry lists scripts, their type, content, and location. Each script undergoes Static Type Checking to scan for errors. It shows you scripts sorted into category tabs, showing the number of scripts in each category and highlighting any errors.
Using the Script Registry gives you better visibility into your scripts, making it easier to maintain and troubleshoot any errors, should you encounter them. Here is a step-by-step breakdown of how to use the feature.
Script Registry for Confluence Data Center: Popular use-cases
- For users migrating from Confluence Data Center to Cloud: With all your scripts in one place, it will be easier for your migration team to get a more accurate estimate of the resources required for a successful migration.
- Upgrade validation: When upgrading Confluence DC, you can use the Script Registry on a staging instance to validate whether your scripts are compatible with the new version and check that all necessary APIs are available.
- Script Maintenance: Improve system performance and keep your Confluence instance running efficiently by using the Script Registry to identify redundant or outdated scripts that can be removed.
Conclusion
The Script Registry feature is available in ScriptRunner for Confluence Data Center v9.13.0. You can find this new feature from the Browse page, the Built-in Scripts list, or from the ellipses menu on the top right-hand side.
Happy scripting!
